Consortium
Boston, MA - May 1, 2005 - In a lead-up to launching
AmberAlertSMS, Unwired Appeal has joined the Amber Alert
Consortium. AmberAlertSMS will provide immediate broadcast
of geo-coded SMS Alerts from the nationwide primary
alerting system.
"Joining the Amber Alert Consortium is an important
step to launching the AmberAlertSMS system", quoted
Dan McCafferty, Unwired's CEO."We have been working
with the Amber Alert for several months to develop a
next-generation alerting system integrated directly
with the system used by state and local law enforcement.".
When a potential child abduction occurs, Amber Alert
issues an alert in CAP XML format and notifies AmberAlertSMS
with a CAP ID and target cell phone list for alert delivery.
AmberAlertSMS retrieves the CAP Alert information and
automatically generates and sends an SMS alert to target
cell phone numbers with designated alert information.AmberAlertSMS
also sends updates and cancellation of alerts.
