MTV contracts Unwired Appeal to provide SMS Polling
BOSTON, MA - April 17, 2007 -- Unwired Appeal deploys
text-message (SMS) voting/polling solution for in-venue
event for MTV and The-N. Audience participants use their
cell phones to answer a series of questions broadcast
throughout the event.
“We have seen a surge of interest recently in our
Unwired Voting and Polling services”, commented Stephen
Nye, Unwired’s VP of Sales. “Ease of deployment and
the relative low cost compared to other types of audience
response systems appear to be the driving factors
for new deployments.”
Unwired Appeal has been offering text-message voting
and polling solutions for the USA market for close
to three years and has quite a bit of experience with
the technology. “We launched our first SMS voting
and polling services back in early 2004 with ‘RadioReaction’”,
continued Nye. “As the name implies, the service was
marketed to radio stations as a way to engage the
audience with real-time voting and polling.”
The Unwired Voting and Polling service includes features
such as real-time results display via Unwired’s web-based
Event Monitor, XML feeds for custom displays, integrated
IVR (interactive voice response) voting options, and
controls to manage voting events.
The web-based controls allow the service administrator
to completely reset the service and launch a new vote
or poll. Essentially this means that the service can
be re-used for an unlimited number of voting or polling
events for one monthly fee plus the cost of messaging.
The basic service supports multiple choice and true/false
questions. Unwired Appeal also provides custom voting
solutions built to client specification.
