SMS Infrastructure Services
Bi-direction SMS Connectivity

Unwired Appeal offers extensive expertise in developing and deploying all types of SMS services and applications, yet many of our clients wish to develop their own applications in-house and simply require connectivity to the intercarrier SMPP network.

To meet this need UA provides network gateway services that allow clients to both send and receive SMS messages using a felxible yet secure HTTP API. Messaging traffic is translated to/from intercarrier SMPP protocol thus opening the 2-way channel between cell phone subscriber and third-party application (see Rapid Application Deployment™ Platform for more information).

Dedicated or Shared Short Code?

Unwired Appeal has built a versatile Shared Short Code system that allows us to run multiple applications and services over our pre-provisioned common Short Codes. These codes allow for both Premium SMS and Standard Rate messaging application to be deployed rapidly at a fraction of the cost of using a dedicated Short Code.

Dedicated Short Codes are also available for services and promotions that require a user-defined vanity code (generally for branding or recognition purposes such with 92466 for YAHOO) or simply a randomly generated code for programs that do not support keyword-routing architecture.

Dedicated vs. Shared Network Binds

Additional considerations for dedicated vs. shared network binds should be taken into account when using dedicated Short Codes. For high bandwidth applications or services that may experience high levels of burst traffic and thus require higher on-demand throughput, a dedicated network bind is recommended.
